Ronald Herman, PhD, has been on the faculty at the University of Iowa for the last 16 years. Six of those were spent with an active practice in the Burn Treatment Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and the last 10 have been as the Director of the Iowa Drug Information Network. He greatly enjoys his interactions with students.
Prior to obtaining his PhD in pharmacokinetics, he and his wife spent six years on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ where they were involved in ministry and the training of medical professional in a developing area of Southern Africa. Since returning to the United States, he has been very involved in the leadership of Christian Pharmacist Fellowship International (CPFI). He has been a Global Health Advisory Council member representing CPFI since 1997. He has participated on GHO trips to Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Afghanistan and Nicaragua.
He prepared the pharmacy manual for use on GHO trips and would be willing to answer any questions about how the pharmacy operates on GHO trips. He will politely decline talking about how to obtain medications, but would gladly address other important issues or concerns that you may have.
