Grant Hewitt, MDiv

Southern Regional Director

Grant was not raised in a Christian home and did not attend church as a child. At the University of Nebraska he met his wife Kelsi, earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, but most importantly, he was brought to saving faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 21. Before becoming a Christian, his goal was to attend physical therapy school, but because of his conversion, he accepted an invitation to be a pastoral intern for two years instead. The next eight years were spent working at three hospital clinics in Omaha, NE area teaching and working with patients on medically-supervised diet and exercise programs. He directed those clinics for three years when he sensed a strong call, primarily from the Holy Spirit and Jim Elliot's biography, The Shadow of the Almighty, to redirect his priorities and life. In early 2014, following much prayer and heart searching, he along with his pregnant wife, decided to sell their newly purchased "dream home", quit his healthcare career, and move their three little kids (4, 3, and 1, at the time) 600 miles to Kentucky to attend Southern Seminary in Louisville. When he graduated, he wondered what sort of calling/ministry existed for someone with a healthcare background and a love for discipleship and missions. Enter CMDA...
