Ann Craig, MD
GHO Specialty Coordinator
Ann Craig, MD, is a pediatrician living in Houston, Texas. She spent 17 years in general pediatrics practice prior to moving to Texas. She is now working in the emergency department at Texas Children’s Hospital and is an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine. She received her undergraduate training in Massachusetts, with a BA at Wellesley College and premedical studies at Boston University, before moving to Philadelphia for medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. Her pediatric residency was at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
Ann started her “career” as a short-term missionary in 1999 with GHO. She has gone to Benin (Prison Fellowship), Honduras, Cameroon and Kenya with GHO, and to Mexico, El Salvador and Bangladesh with her church. Her experiences have confirmed that pediatricians can find plenty of work in short-term missions, even on prison projects! Of course, sometimes she sees 80-year-olds along with the kids, but some medical training never gets too rusty to use. She is a member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Houston. Ann welcomes questions from any pediatricians or PNPs interested in GHO mission projects.
