Opportunities for service at three rural hospitals in Nepal
Human Development and Community Services (HDCS) is a Nepali organization committed to holistic ministry. We have a need for a variety of Christian professionals in rural hospitals across Nepal. If you are committed to mentoring, coaching and training Nepali health professionals please contact SP Kalaunee at spkalaunee@hdcsnepal.org.
HDCS manages three hospitals in Nepal. All three hospitals are in need of surgeons (general or orthopedic), OB/GYNs, and family/general practitioners. We also have a need for a Donor Relations Advisor, who would be based in Kathmandu, to develop donor relations and communications for all HDCS projects. For Dadeldhura Hospital, a Tutorial Group Teacher is also needed as there are several young families at this site.
OUR HOSPITALS
Chaurjahari Hospital, Rukum
Located in mid-west Nepal, this hospital serves around 700,000 people in one of the most remote locations in the nation. The services here are highly valued by the people and communities it serves, for many of whom the cost of healthcare is typically beyond their reach. Currently there are no expat physicians at Chaurjahari, with only one Nepali physician practicing here.
Dadeldhura Hospital
Located in the far west of Nepal, this 40-bed hospital serves over one million people from Dadeldhura and the surrounding seven districts. A larger facility is being built over the next couple of years, and the hospital will be a training center for midlevel staff throughout the Far West. Currently there are three expat physicians serving there (two family physicians and one OB/GYN). For this hospital, recruiting a general surgeon or orthopedic surgeon is the greatest need.
Lamjung District Community Hospital
Located in western Nepal, this 50-bed hospital is the district hospital for Lamjung and is managed by HDCS on behalf of the Government of Nepal. World Bank described Lamjung Hospital as a model district hospital for all of Nepal. Currently there are no expat physicians at Lamjung.
