Trip Information:
We are excited to partner again with International Medical Assistance (www.ima-missions.org) for our fourth Gyn surgical mission to Mexico. This trip will be in their new mission hospital in the city of Valladolid. The beautiful 16th century colonial city of Valladolid is situated in the center of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula. With a population of 50,000, Valladolid is a relatively modern city, surrounded by Mayan Indian villages with some of Mexico’s neediest and underserved people. It is to these people that our team will seek to minister and offer physical and spiritual healing. Our hosts, Dr. Roberto Rodriguez Arizpe (general surgeon and former CMDA Mexico President) and his son, Ricardo have dedicated their lives to serving the poorest in Mexico through surgical missions.

Our team will meet at the Cancun airport on Saturday October 20th and from there will travel 2 ½ hours by bus or van to Valladolid. We will be staying in Hotel Zaci downtown and will be able to walk to the hospital. The meals in Valladolid and accommodations are included in the project fee. Breakfast and dinner will be at the hotel, followed by worship and devotions. Lunch will be at the hospital. Sunday we will be in clinic all day meeting women who have already been screened (most with ultrasounds and hematocrits) and are in need of surgery. Monday through Friday afternoon we will operate, and minister spiritually to the women and their families. Saturday and Sunday will be spent at Playa del Carmen at the Hotel Plaza Mariachi where we can enjoy some team reflection and relaxation before heading home.
