Trip Details:  Our host is Pastor Aquiles Nuñez, who is head of the Pastor’s Association in Langue.  Ricardo Ilias, our longtime friend, host and dentist in Tegucigalpa,  will help us organize it as well as have the cooperation from Tina Cedillos, our Lab Tech, from Siguatepeque.  GHO has been sending teams to Langue since December 2002, but this will be our first time back there in a number of years.  Because this town is very remote, few medical teams have this area on their hearts or radar.

This border town near El Salvador and just NW of Choluteca, is a very rural and arid part of southwestern Honduras.  Farming and ranching are the means of living for most families.  The team will be hosted in the hotel where we have stayed in past years, but the hotel has improved and even now boasts of air conditioning!  Meals will be provided by the Motel, which are safe and nourishing with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and famous Honduras tortillas, beans and rice as well as other menu offerings.

The local pastors and lay folks will be responsible for sharing the gospel with each patient and taking time to listen and pray with them.  Our GHO team members will also be challenged to pray with the patients and encourage them in their walk with Christ, offer Christ as the Great Healer of body and soul and also encourage the local pastors in their challenges as Shepherds of the flock.  Home visits will be part of the outreach to those too sick to come to the clinic site.  Our team of interpreters will form a vital part of the GHO team, and prayer will be needed for God to provide the right number and spiritually mature interpreters to make this outreach a life changing experience for all.

Come ready to serve, learn, grow and be drawn closer to the heart of Christ and the passion He has for the least, lost and last.  Matthew 25 is a great chapter to read and meditate on to prepare your heart to see God in the people and patients that will be part of the Langue GHO ministry.
