Trip Details: This is GHO’s fourth trip to C*mbodia. God has blessed us with excellent and experienced national partners. We will be partnering with Dr. Yim Y*ren and Dr. Ros S*cheat.
Our GHO Team will be providing primary medical, dental and optical care in a very poor rural village of the northern Pr*ah Vihear Province. This area has almost no gospel witness and is largely unreached. Preah V*hear is the poorest province in the nation. We have wanted to minister there since the beginning of our work in Cambodia. God has finally opened this door for 2013!
Our translators are largely comprised of medical, dental and other professional students who are involved with Dr. R*s’ C*mbodian Healthcare Christian Fellowship. Some of these students are adherents to Buddhism, while others are vibrant first generation Christians. The ministry to our student-translators is a wonderful aspect of this mission.
This trip will be demanding both physically and professionally. The desire to have a humble servant heart is an essential requirement. Together we will care for many unreached people in the Name of Christ.
After centuries of cultural domination by the Buddhist religion, God has been blowing the wind of His Spirit through the nation of Camb*dia. The Church is young and small, but it is alive and growing.

Please prayerfully consider joining this trip and serve the least, the last and the lost!
Country Information: C*mbodia is a nation of about 13 million people in Southeast Asia. It is located in the "10-40" window. Over 90% of the population and the majority of those we will serve on this mission trip are Khmer people, descendants of teh Angkor Empire that extended over much of Southeast Asia and reached its zenith between the 10th and 13th centuries. The Khmer are a "least reached" people group. Only about 0.5% of the population of Camb*dia is considered to be evangelical Christian. About 95% of the populatin is Buddist with another 4% claiming Muslim faith.
In 1969, C*mbodia suffered bombings by the U.S. and invasions by the Vietnamese; events that threw the country into turmoil. In addition, a civil war broke out between the Cam*dian government and Communist rebels known as the Khmer Rouge. Possibly two million Cambod*ans died between 1975 and 1979 while the Khmer Rouge ruled in a reign of terror. After years of factional fighting and instability, C*mbodia held national elections in 2003.
Since the days of Pol Pot and the Killing Fields, Camb*dia has been struggling to heal its land. The areas we will be ministering in are impoverished, rural areas . We will experience C*mbodia during the dry season when few mosquitos prevail. The temperature during the clinic hours will be warm to hot.
Vaccination Information: Wondering what immunizations you’ll need for the mission trip? Please refer to the Centers for Disease Control website.
