Country Information: Evangelical Christians in
Moldova number less than 1% of the population in a country where the
Communist government was reelected in September 2001. The Evangelical
Christian churches, though few, are usually strong in their faith and
commitment. They lack discipleship and training in how to reach out to
their communities with the Gospel.
Trip Details: This trip will involve various aspects
of ministry. We will work in villages where local missionaries are
serving to establish churches and help them grow. Each clinic is opened
to the entire community as a ministry of Christ's love and compassion,
and as a demonstration of practical Christian concern on the part of the
local Christian community (sometime a very small number).
Our ministry to the people of Moldova will include many of the
following types of outreach: medical clinics, dental
clinics, including children’s fluoride treatments, eye-glass
clinics, children’s ministry, ministry in prisons, orphanages, and
homes, door-to-door evangelism, preaching, opportunities to speak at
colleges and universities, among other opportunities. Clinics are
conducted in a village home, school, church building or community
center. They are always very humble places, but the local Christians do
a good job of seeing that they are clean and sufficiently well lit
(which sometimes means we must work by a window or outside in the
sun!).
Our goal is to reach those who come with the gospel. As patients and
their families wait to see the doctor or dentist, the Gospel is
presented in the street, through testimonies, or personal one-on-one
evangelism. The visiting doctors also teach the gospel and pray with
their patients. Many have come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
through such clinics.
Our work will include opportunities to encourage the local church. We
will also work closely with interpreters, a number of whom may not have
heard the Gospel before working with the visiting missionaries from the
US.
Join Global Health Outreach, in proclaiming God’s glory among
the Moldovan people as we perform medical and non-medical outreach in
the city of Chisinau and the surrounding villages in support of the
local church planters. Flexibility and teachability are
key.
These ministries are a part of our ongoing effort to reach the
least-reached, and to equip them to reach the un-reached for Jesus
Christ.
If you are a teacher, doctor, dentist, nurse, pastor, homemaker,
retiree, student, or person of any vocation (over 18 years of age) whose
life has been transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you are
qualified! We extend a warm invitation for you to join us.

From Team Leader Andy Sanders: "Moldova is an
extremely impoverished eastern European country, just emerging from
decades of communist rule. The church there is young, but vibrant, bold,
and exciting to partner with. Our ministry to the physical needs of
these people will be done in partnership with local churches, having as
the main focus the spiritual healing that is the people's true need.
”Our ministry will be in different rural villages where the
gospel has not yet reached, as well as in a prison, and in an asylum for
abandoned and handicapped people. We will do medical and dental clinics,
optometry, children's ministry and pastors training. As always, the need
for pharmacists, nurses, students, and logistic people are essential for
the ministries that we have planned. At the completion of the trip, our
team will spend one day in Prague (or another vacation city) to relax,
and process the lessons the Lord has for us individually from the
trip.
"This promises to be an exciting opportunity to represent the Gospel
to many Moldovan village dwellers. We look forward to what God will do,
as we anticipate your involvement. Moldova truly is a frontier. There
are so many opportunities. God is at work and we are so thrilled to have
the privilege of serving at His side in Moldova."
