Trip Details: This will be only the second time for GHO to work in this area. This a rural part of the country, 3 hours north-west of Tegucigalpa, the capital. We will fly into "Tegus" and travel by bus.

A full service clinic/small hospital was built in this area 40 years ago. This past year, there has been a revival of the work in this area with a Christian Honduran physician and dentist serving full time. On our last mission, patients traveled many hours to be served by the brigade. The pastors in the local community came together to support the mission and formed an association for mutual evangelism and support in preparation for last years brigade.

Lodging at LaJoya is in a bunk house within walking distance of the clinic. Men and women will be in separate quarters. Our meals are prepared on site.

We arrive on Saturday afternoon after connecting in Miami. We spend our first evening in a nice hotel in Tegucigalpa and travel on Sunday to our destination. We set up the clinic on Sunday afternoon, and then have our first church service with the local pastors on Sunday evening. Work will be Monday to Friday afternoon when we return to Tegus. Saturday is a day for rest, reflection, shopping, sharing, visiting the orphanage, etc. We head to the airport on Sunday morning to return to the U.S.

Vaccination Information: Wondering what immunizations you’ll need for the mission trip? Please refer to the Centers for Disease Control website.
