Dr. Rumph was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 21, 1933. He did his pre-med studies at Rice University in Houston Texas. He attended medical school at the University of Texas at Galveston, interning at John Peter Smith in Fort Worth.

 

Dr. Rumph served in the USAF, from 1959 to 1961. He then began his OB-Gyn residency at the University of Mississippi, completing it in 1964. He practiced in Oklahoma from 1964 until his retirement in May of 2004. He has been married to his wife Mary Frances since 1955. They have four children, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is a small group leader at his church.

 

Dr. Rumph is on the board of directors for the Oklahoma Family Policy Council as well as the Enid Community Clinic (free clinic). He has participated in short term missions since 1991. He has served in Africa, Asia, Europe, Central and South America.
