Dr. Jeffrey Barrows is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist who in 1999 joined the staff of the Christian Medical Dental Association to help administrate a medical education mission outreach called Medical Education International (MEI).  He served as the Director of MEI from July of 2002 until December of 2005. As part of his work with MEI, he has been involved in short-term teaching trips to Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, China and Mongolia.

 

Since December of 2005, Dr. Barrows' work with the Christian Medical Association has shifted to focusing on the health ramifications of human trafficking and teaching healthcare professionals how to recognize potential human trafficking victims. In 2006, he completed a consultation on the health needs of trafficking victims in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

 

He recently completed a M.A. in Bioethics at Trinity International University in Chicago. He's been married to his wife Kathy for 29 years, and has 3 children, Colleen, Kari, and Caleb.
