It is often the case that schools of medicine and dentistry are juxtaposed to schools of nursing, PAs, PNs, and pharmacology. We encourage our CMDA student leaders to invite students from all fields of medicine to join in and participate in our campus groups. After all, we will all work, learn, and serve along side each other when we are in practice, even take mission trips together. Why not begin that process while in school?

In a few cases, students have chosen a neutral name in order to be more inclusive. The CMDA group at OHSU in Portland went by Hill Christian Fellowship for years. Even now, the CMDA group at U CO operates under the name Health Christian Fellowship for this very reason. They are careful to publicize the fact they are sponsored by CMDA on posters and on websites.
