At the Northeast Winter conference this past January over two hundred
students, residents, attendings, dentists, allied healthcare
professionals and their families gathered along the Chesapeake bay to
come into God’s presence. They also had many opportunities to
enjoy each other’s company, the unseasonably warm weather and the
renewal that comes from taking time to focus on the Savior.
Please take a few moments to hear their thoughts on how this conference
impacted them in response to the following questions:
How was your relationship with God affected by this
conference?
Affirmations of God’s calling; re-centering my life on
God’s purpose for me.
It gave me more insight into how God might be calling me in the
future.
Renewed my commitment to serving Christ even when it is hard for
me.
Strengthening—as He let me know I AM NOT ALONE
This weekend was a wonderful time for me—the talks
definitely renewed my focus in medicine—to serve God and to draw
people to Him.
I was challenged to be on call for God and to give up all my life
to Him.
[By] renewing my faith and trust in Him to work out all things
according to His will and this calling He has given me.
What, if anything, is different about you as you return
home?
I feel more confident and at peace with where God will take
me.
Had the time to think life over and how Jesus is calling me to
let Him completely control my life—want to be dead to
self—that He may live in me.
Encouraged that so many healthcare professionals are on fire for
Christ! . . . more understanding of how God uses healthcare
professionals for His glory.
I don’t feel as lonely as a Christian in my school anymore
because I know there are so many others like me out there.
Feel refreshed. God reminded me again about His calling for
me.
I realize the vital importance of being competent and excellent
in my work—vital to my testimony as a believer in healthcare.
This conference continues to be an amazing opportunity for healthcare
professionals to renew their relationship with God and be reminded of
His call on their lives. If you were not able to come this year, I
encourage you to put the NER Winter Conference on your calendar for
January 14-16, 2011. I hope to see you there!
