Lady Vols Basketball. |

years and for the Bristol Va. Police Department. “I did not
realize the blessing God was giving me until I had worked here for a few
months and saw how different it was to work with Christian brothers and
sisters. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband Ron for 35 years;
he was a Bristol Va. Police Officer until he retired 4 years ago. We
have one son Bryan married to Sherry. My family loves camping and

Administration
 |
Debra Deyton is the Executive
Assistant to the CEO and Senior Vice President, primarily responsible
for management and day-to-day operations of the CEO’s office. Her
start in the healthcare profession was as a naïve 19-year-old
working in an OB/Gyn practice as the doctor’s assistant. Reasons
for leaving the job were ethical and she desired opportunity to stand
more boldly against abortion. In 1998, she was asked to join CMDA as
administrative assistant to what was then the Advancement department,
which included Media and Public Policy. She later moved to the
Digital Media Center helping to produce educational resources on
abortion and other ethical issues. Debra now serves CMDA’s
leadership at the executive and governance level. “My role may be
small, but I am honored to serve a ministry that is at the forefront in
the war on ethics. I am thankful for that OB doctor who took me at age
19 on one OB hospital call that opened my eyes to the miracle of birth!
It was also good training for the future job of delivering my 3 sons
(not all at the same time).” |
 |
Dr. Gene Rudd is Senior Vice President
with responsibility for overseeing the operations of CMDA. He trained
and served in the military as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist before

of his life God has led Scott to participate in cross-cultural
ministries like ministering through English as a second language in
Korea and West Africa as well as helping lead inner-city ministry in New
Orleans. After joining CMDA in 2002, Scott realized that God had
continued to lead him into cross-cultural ministry as he crossed into
the culture of healthcare to help God’s people live out His
calling. The great joys in his life are his wife, their children, a
toddler and an infant, and the occasional quiet moment. |

inspire, educate and equip healthcare personnel for long-term medical
mission service. Prior to joining CMDA, Susan spent 23 years as a

Hospital. Her first love was teaching and equipping people in rural
communities to be healthy and provide well for their children. In 1994
though, she became the hospital CEO. Susan joined CMDA in 2003 after
leaving Kenya when the Kenyan she mentored for seven years took over the
leadership of Tenwek Hospital. She finds her varied missionary
experience invaluable in her CMDA role. |

Communications promoting the mission and vision of CMDA through
facilitation of written and oral communications. "I love developing
relationships with the media, but even better I love developing Godly
relationships with our members." Margie joined CMDA in 2002. She
believes her previous 22 years of experience in television and
healthcare was God's preparation to fulfill her role at CMDA. Her
interests in human behavior has developed her into a people-watcher, but
her respect for privacy even in public places creates a dilemma so she
goes to places like the Bristol race and ballgames where she tries to
inconspicuously watch others. |
Digital Media Center
 |
David Bushong is the Director of the
Digital Media Center. In 1995 David joined the staff of the Christian
Medical & Dental Associations and started the Digital Media Center

environment for workers and visitors, and promotes good work and health
conditions, while being a good steward of the things God gives us. David

how things work started at a young age with the disassemble and
reassemble of toys and machines. |
 |
Robert Howard has been the Mailroom
Manager for CMDA since 2002. He is responsible for cost effectively
getting large volumes of mail distributed internally and externally. Not
such an easy job when everyone wants their shipments distributed quickly
but cheap. Robert is a minister and often helps with our Chapel Services
preaching in the old-time tradition. His twin brother claims to be the
"good" one. But it would be hard to prove to the CMDA staff. |

four years there before transferring to GHO in April of
2009. A native of Detroit, she is still a big Red Wings hockey
fan and watches their games whenever possible.
|
 |
Donna Dixon joined CMDA in February
2008 as the Finance Administrative Assistant. She praises God for the
joyous opportunity to be placed in a Christian organization. Before
coming to CMDA, Donna had worked at a local hospital most of her life,
with an 8 ½ year maternity leave, as she jokingly tells everyone.
During this extended leave she had two daughters, Mara and Abbey. She
happily tells people she is blessed with the world's greatest husband
who was her high school sweetheart. "God has greater plans for us all if
we will only accept His will and let Him give us the answers, sometimes
before there is ever even a question", as Donna has recently discovered
with her move to Global Health Outreach as Inventory Manager. "God again
has shown how intimately involved He is in every aspect of my life. When
GHO was short a team member, I began having a burning in my
heart for GHO. Before long I realized that it was because God was
leading me to help fill this spot". Like so many other times when God
has taken over, the first words out of her mouth was "AMAZING", because
He is. |

body and spirit and to share the love and the compassion of Christ with
those who are lost without help and without hope. Sam’s heart is
to be a blessing to the Lord and be obedient to His calling so His Lord
and Savior Jesus would receive glory, honor and praise. |
 |
Alicia Trivett is currently serving as
GHO Administrative Assistant, however, since coming to CMDA in 1996, she
has filled many roles within the organization, including the
mailroom, resources and membership. She has had the
opportunity to work closely with the accounting and IT departments, thus
giving her a broad understanding of CMDA. Her current role allows
her to build relationships with people around the world while sharing
the good news of Jesus Christ. |

technician. He enjoys the blessing of knowing the work he now does has a
positive impact on the Kingdom of God. Also as a veteran of various
Bluegrass gospel and Southern gospel bands, he loves harmony vocals, and
can even half way pick a banjo! |

Medical Malpractice Ministry Liaison for CMDA, the Inventory Specialist
for Life & Health Resources and the Continuing Education Support
Specialist, assisting Barbara Snapp with CE processing. Sandy has worked
for CMDA since 1996, and wears those three distinctly different hats
equally well, utilizing mercy, orderliness and attention to
detail—all gifts from God. Sandy and her husband have been married
since 1969 and are finally beginning to understand God’s design
for marriage and life after all these years! One of their greatest
delights has been the arrival of their first grandchild, who they visit
regularly.
|
Meetings
 |
Melinda Mitchell has been with CMDA
since 1999 and serves as the Meeting Manager for national conferences
and events. She loves planning meetings but truly believes Proverbs
19:21 which states, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” And because of
that it has become the mission of the Meetings Department to encourage,
train and equip Christian doctors and students in their professional
lives by providing continuing education in medicine and dentistry at
home and abroad. Melinda came to CMDA after working 17 years as a
Medical Lab Technician, which gave her considerable insight in the daily
pressures experienced by physicians both in private practice and within
the hospital setting, a great asset when working with our members.
Melinda may appear sweet on the outside but be forewarned, you
don’t want to get between her and her M&M’s when
she’s having a chocolate attack! |

to be is finances and that his job is to help facilitate that movement.
Jamey’s responsibilities include supporting the efforts of
CMDA’s members, raising money for its ministries, providing
stewardship education for our membership and joining our area and
regional staff to raise money to support their ministries. Jamey and his
