Listen Now! A Glimpse Into WIMD Conferences (MP3)
Our Mission
To encourage and support women physicians and dentists in living out
their Christian faith in their professional and personal lives.
The Commission on Women in Medicine & Dentistry seeks to minister
to women through encouragement in living the Christian life in these
demanding professions. The methods used are varied but include
devotionals, annual conferences, and a monthly publication in
CMDA’s Progress Notes. Women are also invited to a breakfast for
fellowship during the annual CMDA conference.

"Spiritual Networking"
By Leslie Walker, MD
Is anyone else out there “addicted” to Facebook? After a
year of coaxing by my cousin in another state, in January 2009 I
finally joined the millions of “older adults” on this social
networking website originally created for incoming students at Harvard.
What an amazing invention. Within a few days, I reconnected with my best
friend from high school, whom I visited a few months later in
Minneapolis. I caught up with several Concert Choir buddies from
Wheaton.
And there was WIMD! I was able to find out in real time about
immediate issues that WIMD all over the country, and sometimes in other
parts of the world, were facing. What a tool to facilitate prayer! What
a source of daily encouragement when I moved to my new office.
What a great way to learn more about (and see pictures of) my WIMD
friends’ real lives outside of WIMD conferences. (Our WIMD
Facebook group now includes 45 members!)
