Stacey assists in fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, small group
Bible studies, mission trips, and fundraising for CMDA.
Mission Mexico
In June of each year, CMDA at the University of Mississippi Medical
Center, takes a team of medical and dental students and Physicians and
Dentists to provide health care and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ
with the people of Piedras Negras, Mexico. Jimmy Turner coordinates the
trips and goes as spiritual advisor. The trips are a blessing for all
involved – the patients and medical team alike.
Student Ministries
It is thrilling to see the spiritual interest of so many students. We
have an average of 150 students each week for our Tuesday Noon Large
Group Bible Study. In addition to this meeting, we have eight Small
Group Bible Studies: M1, M2, D1, D2, PT, OT, and two women’s
studies taught by Dr. Elizabeth Hensley and Dr. Sharon Douglas.

New Doctor's Perspective
There is much to give thanks for in regards to CMDA on the campus of
UMC. This marks the beginning of my sixth year to be involved with this
ministry. The Lord is at work here, and I ask you to offer prayers of
thanksgiving for His plain and forthright encouragement of us all as He
furthers the work of His grace.
Please allow me to share with you a few examples that so beautifully
bear witness to His provision. First, there are record numbers of
students attending the large group lunch meetings each Tuesday. With a
few exceptions, we have seen an average of nearly 150 students returning
weekly. Most every school is represented: medical, dental, nursing, and
health-related to come gather together in fellowship. There are also
many students expressing interest in the various small group Bible
studies that are available for further, in-depth training. Secondly, we
are thrilled that the Lord has provided us the opportunity to now have
our Tuesday lunch meetings in the newly constructed student center.
Lastly, let me add that I have been so very humbled and encouraged by
the lives of many students. It is an enormous blessing to serve
alongside them. There are real believers here on this campus with a
hunger for the Truth and an ever-deepening love for His word, for His
church, and for their lost classmates. Pray for the Gospel to both
illuminate the hearts of the lost and to strengthen those who are His
own. I hope that you eagerly look forward, as I do even now, to seeing
the Lord bring healing to broken souls as we seek to minister in the
field of healthcare into which the Lord has brought us. We, as students
and Doctors, thank you for your support of this ministry and urge you to
continue to pray for Jimmy and Matt as they faithfully shepherd the
flock the Lord has placed under their care. As you can see, we have much
to be thankful for!
Grace and peace to you.
