What is the PAACS?
In 1996, a group of general surgeons from evangelical mission hospitals
in Africa joined with the Christian Medical & Dental Associations of
the United States to establish a non-denominational Christian
organization to train general surgeons in Africa. They called the
organization the Pan-African College of Christian Surgeons (PACCS),
which was later changed to Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons
(PAACS) in 2004.
