James writes to his readers in 1:27 -
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself
from being polluted by the world."

Meeting the needs of those who need it most and purity are on top on of
God's short list. And John tells us in his first letter (5:3)
that God's commandments are not burdensome. At the end
of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Lewis reminds us that
Alsan is not safe, but he is good - and very good to us.
So, we ought to follow his example and be good to others. Seems
like I've heard that somewhere before...
Many opps for service. Enjoy!
